Talking Vehicles
Wolfsburg, Germany…
The ‘C3World’ research group, which comprises Volkswagen and research institutes in Braunschweig, Hannover and Oldenburg, is working at networking cars and commercial vehicles to make them “talk” with one another.
In the future, says the group, vehicles will communicate with each other to provide drivers and passengers with information that is relevant to safety, comfort and convenience. This could be a hazard warning about a broken-down vehicle on the planned route, but it could also be navigation instructions to the nearest vacant car park, or even the calendar of events in the city to which you are driving.
