Changing a tyre on a massive open-cast mining truck can be a daunting prospect – unless you happen to have a 25-tonne Hyster forklift handy…fitted with a IMT TH3536 tyre-handling attachment like the one shown here being demonstrated at the recent Reifen 2010 exhibition in Essen, Germany.
The IMT TH3536 tyre handler range can lift and rotate 390° tyres on rims between 18.00-25 to 57.5 / 85 x 57, and weighing up to 11,340kg.
The Hyster H25-32XM forklift includes a ‘dual-function’ carriage with a ‘quick-disconnect’ for the forks to enable a quick exchange between forks and the IMT TH3536 attachment. Also featured are load-sensing hydraulics that only provide maximum power when it is really needed, so consuming less fuel and giving savings of between 5% to 15%.
Hyster has a long history of providing big forklift trucks and container handling equipment for ports, terminals – as well as heavy-duty industrial applications throughout the world, dating back to the 1950s.
