Fuel-saver nominated for Green Fleet Award
A unique fuel-saving logging system developed by low-carbon vehicle specialist Ashwoods Automotive has been nominated for an award in the IT Innovation category in the GreenFleet 2010 Awards.
The Ashwoods Data Logger is a GSM-based device that fits neatly into any vehicle’s sun visor. The logger communicates real-time fuel data to the Ashwoods website, where customers can securely log in at any time in order to track the true MPG achieved for each vehicle in their fleet while operating at any time on the road.
Mark Roberts, Managing Director of Ashwoods Automotive, says: “The Data Logger outperforms other telematics and telemetry providers in the commercial vehicle industry because it crunches the numbers derived from actual fuel use and mileage.”
The easy-to-use system, which can be retrofitted to most vehicles, goes a long way towards helping fleet managers to reduce fuel theft and unauthorised personal mileage. The accurate mileage logging also helps keep transport managers informed about servicing schedules on their vehicles.
Launched this summer, Ashwoods has fitted the Data Logger to more than 100 vehicles in public sector fleets and has already received orders for 500 more systems.
