The European Parts Centre for the Doosan Heavy range of excavators, wheel loaders and articulated dump trucks, based at Leipzig in Germany, is currently achieving an industry-leading fill rate of an average of 96.6% compared to the typical figure of 95% in the rest of the industry.
Providing 24-hour delivery of parts to Doosan dealers and customers door-to-door anywhere in Europe from a stock of over 43,000 parts, the 6000 m2 Doosan European Parts Centre is housed in a large warehouse facility operated by Doosan’s partner, DHL Supply Chain.
The warehouse is located right next to the central European DHL Express Air Hub at the Leipzig/Halle Airport and serves customers across a massive area that stretches from the French department of Reunion Island in the Indian Ocean to the French overseas territory of Guadeloupe in the southern Caribbean Sea.
One of the key advantages of the location of the Leipzig Parts Centre is that Doosan can provide its customers with an extended cut-off time of 18.00 pm – any order placed before then will be delivered the next day.
Strong Commitment for European Customers
Paulo Florindo, Aftermarket & Product Support Operations Director for Doosan Construction Equipment in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, said: “Established at the end of 2014, the Doosan European Parts Centre is the result of significant investment by Doosan Construction Equipment to provide a value-added parts service for our European customers and dealers.
“We are all very proud of the excellent work of the European aftermarket team, resulting in this fantastic average fill rate of 96.6% and we are aiming to achieve a target of 97% in the near future. As well as enhancing our aftermarket service, the Leipzig Parts Centre demonstrates our strong commitment to the European market and has a significant positive impact on the regional business for Doosan.”
Complementing the standard 24-hour service, Doosan can also offer faster High Priority parts delivery via DHL Express. As well as a Same Day delivery service, there is an In-Night delivery service for very urgent parts which is currently available for customers in Germany and the Benelux countries and a similar service has just begun for customers in France.
Paulo Florindo added: “The Leipzig Parts Centre has helped to strengthen brand loyalty for the Doosan Heavy range in Europe, whilst creating more customer solutions. Our dealers do a wonderful job of selling the first machine into our customers, but with the increased parts support from Leipzig, we can have a very important role in helping to secure the sale of further machines to the same customers.”
